About Collie Chatter

Hi, I’m Gerry Howe. I created Collie Chatter, including the name, the logo and the website, and I run the site today. Collie Chatter is for people who love Rough, Smooth and Border Collies, whether you’re thinking about your first Collie or you’ve lived with them for years.

Gerry Howe, owner and editor. I decide what we cover and review what goes on the site.

Larry Brown, contributor. Larry writes most of our new guides, including our health, food and breed guides.

Emily Sowulewski, original author. For a long time Emily was Collie Chatter’s main writer, and she has since moved on. Her Rough Collies, Gus, Yoshi and Vakaa, appear throughout her posts; Gus, who has passed away, was part of so many of those stories. Her posts are still here to read, and I’m grateful for everything she gave this site.

How we research and review

  • We base our guides on published sources and link to them where it helps.
  • Health content is checked against veterinary and breed-club sources.
  • Nothing here is a substitute for advice from your own veterinarian.
  • We update guides when information changes and show the date.
